Who are we?

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable”

– Christopher Reeve, Spinal Cord Injury

Ian Denslow
MCSP MSC Physiotherapy

Ian graduated from Southampton University with an MSc in Physiotherapy in 2011. Prior to this he achieved a First Class Honors Degree in Sport Sciences (Exercise and Fitness) from Brunel University.

Since graduating Ian has gained a vast amount of experience working across the country in inpatient, outpatient and community settings in both the NHS and private sectors. Most recently Ian moved from Neurology in Dorchester to the specialist Spinal Treatment Centre in Salisbury. Having gained experience in the NHS Ian has first-hand experience of its great benefit but also the challenges it faces. In September 2020 Ian decided to pursue his vision and develop Dorset Neuro Rehab fulltime channelling all his efforts into providing a high quality, specialist service to people across Dorset with neurological conditions.

Ian has a passion for getting physiotherapy right and provides a personal experience to each and every one of his clients. He doesn’t want physiotherapy to be a chore and prides himself on the individuality of the service he provides.

When he isn’t busy at work Ian enjoys playing volleyball, cycling and spending time with his slightly disobedient Golden Retriever. “If my dog was as compliant with training as my clients are with their rehab he’d be at Crufts!”

Don't just take our word for it

Dorset Neuro Rehab

"Ian has been providing an invaluable service for my mother who has a brain injury as a result of a fall. He has a wonderful way of dealing with her, tailoring his approach and treatment to suit her ability and mood in the session. She responds very well to him and looks forward to her sessions with him. When dealing with us as the family, he has handled changes to his approach and has set our expectations very sensitively and thoughtfully, which we really appreciate.
We would absolutely recommend Dorset Neuro Rehab, we would be lost without them."

"I can highly recommend Ian for his expert help recovering my mobility after a stroke.

After being able to walk only a few steps, 4 months ago, and sometimes not even that, I am now capable of walking several miles each day, driving, and playing tennis again (men's doubles)."

"Ian was instrumental in my recovery following spinal surgery for cauda equina. He made home visits, which was amazing as I was housebound. He gave me confidence to move again, exercises to suit my abilities, he didn't push my recovery and we went at my pace with his encouragement. He is very friendly and checked up on me after I returned to work. Genuinely wants to help and I felt extremely confident working with him due to his experience."
